A custom operations platform for a multi-branch home care agency
A WordPress-based operations app for branch and corporate staff, a React Native app for caregivers, and the Orchestrator framework underneath, built from 2018.

Options for Senior America is a home care agency that runs many branches, each with its own caregivers, care recipients, schedules, and records. From 2018, Orpheus built the custom platform those teams work in: an operations app for the office and a mobile app for caregivers in the field.
One platform for the office, the branches, and the field
A home care agency depends on coordination. Office staff recruit and qualify caregivers, match them to care recipients, schedule shifts, track timesheets, and keep credentials current. Branch managers need their own branch’s data. Corporate leadership needs to see across all of them. Caregivers need their assignments wherever they are.
Orpheus built a custom platform around those roles. The operations app runs inside WordPress as a single-page React application for branch and corporate staff. The OptionsCP mobile app gives caregivers their schedule, open shifts, care details, and messages. Both use the same API, which Orpheus built on its own WordPress Orchestrator framework.
The screens on this page come from the operations app’s original code, run locally with fictional demonstration data. No client records are shown.
The agency’s records, schedules, and reports in one place
The web application organizes the agency’s work into modules for caregiver applicants, caregivers, care recipients and inquiries, home care agencies, institutions, social workers and other professionals, and supervisory visits. Each module is defined as a data model, so forms, lists, search, and related subtables come from a single definition.
Day-to-day tools sit alongside the records: timesheets and call-ins that can roll forward to the next week, a live-in and overtime calculator, reference letters, compliance tracking, and office-to-caregiver chat. Reports and queries were imported from Microsoft Access, giving the platform a library of 174 reports, including state-specific service agreements and caregiver credential-expiration reports.
Payroll and billing sync
A QuickBooks Web Connector integration sends employees, vendors, customers, timesheets, and checks from the platform to QuickBooks, with a separate queue for each branch.
Built around how a multi-branch agency is organized
Each branch keeps its own database, and every request in the platform is scoped to a branch. Users have a home branch. Branch operators work in their branch, multi-branch operators move between the branches assigned to them, and corporate staff can see all of them. The app remembers the last branch a user worked in.
Reports can combine any set of branches. Each branch has its own time zone, franchise status, mobile app users, QuickBooks connection, and notification settings, so the right people hear when a caregiver arrives late, leaves early, stays late, or stops checking in.

A caregiver app connected to the office in real time
OptionsCP is a React Native app for iOS and Android. After signing in, caregivers see their assignments and the open shifts available at their branch. They can request an open shift with a tap, and the branch is notified. Each assignment shows a map and directions to the care recipient, buttons to call the branch or its after-hours line, and a read-only care summary with the schedule, services, conditions, and daily tasks.
The app and the office stay connected through a socket server. Caregivers get alerts for new messages, new open shifts, and new assignments, plus reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before each shift. During a shift window, the app reports the caregiver’s distance from the assignment. The platform checks it against a 150-meter geofence and flags missed check-ins to the branch.

Branch pages, search, and staff access on the public site
Orpheus also built Orpheus Location Profiles, a WordPress plugin for the agency’s public website. Every branch has a profile page with its address, hours, after-hours on-call details, staff bios, and the states, counties, cities, and ZIP codes it serves. Visitors can search by ZIP code to find the branch that serves them and see nearby branches by distance. The phone number and testimonials across the site follow the branch a visitor last viewed.
The same plugin gives franchise owners a front-end portal for editing their own branch, and it provides document libraries for staff, caregivers, and in-service training, each limited to the right roles.
What Orpheus built
Operations web app
A React application inside WordPress for caregiver, care recipient, and agency records, timesheets, and chat.
Branch-scoped data
A separate database for each branch, with home-branch, multi-branch, and corporate access levels.
Reporting
174 reports imported from Microsoft Access, multi-branch reporting, and print and PDF output.
Caregiver mobile app
OptionsCP for iOS and Android, with assignments, open-shift requests, care summaries, and messaging.
Real-time alerts
Socket-driven notifications, shift reminders, geofenced check-ins, and missed-check-in alerts by branch.
QuickBooks integration
Per-branch sync of employees, vendors, customers, timesheets, and checks through the Web Connector.
Built on Orpheus’s WordPress Orchestrator framework
Underneath the agency’s application is WordPress Orchestrator, a database application framework Orpheus developed in 2018. It connects WordPress to external databases, stores queries and report designs, turns JSON data models into forms and REST endpoints, runs a React front end inside WordPress, and adds the custom login, roles, and capabilities the platform depends on.
From first commit to production in 2018
March 2018
Work began on the Orchestrator framework, the caregiver app, and the branch website plugin, with external databases, report import, roles, and branch switching in place within the first weeks.
May–July 2018
Multi-branch access, the mobile API, messaging, QuickBooks integration, multi-branch reports, and geofenced check-ins were added.
September 2018
iOS and Android release builds were prepared and the mobile app was published to its production channel.
2019
Work continued with branch-specific notifications, role-limited corporate reports, standalone QuickBooks payroll, and per-user permission settings.
